All Films must include the intro asset provided here.
Your film must also follow these general guidelines:
Length: 1–3 minutes
Language: Any, as long as subtitles are included
Submission fee: $15
Submission Deadline: 3rd of October
Your video must begin with our provided Dor Awards Intro Video:
The Themes
All films must revolve around one of the three themes below. Your chosen theme should be an integral part of your narrative, not just a passing reference or background detail.
We’ve provided a few visual and conceptual examples for each theme, but don’t feel boxed in, you’re not required to use our own specific ideas.
Your interpretation can be literal, symbolic, absurd, emotional, comedic, poetic, violent, or anything else that fits your vision.
What matters is that the theme is present, central, and meaningful.
Theme #1: Door
A literal door… a symbolic one… a portal, an entrance, a choice.
It can lead to another planet, a haunted basement, or someone’s heart.
Use it how you want - just make sure it matters.
Theme #2: Twins
Two of something. Or someone. It can be a cloned president, two brains in jars, evil sisters on the run, or rats with rifles in a subway.
However you show it - there should be two.
Theme #3: Trophy
You must feature a trophy in your film
What it symbolizes is up to you: a beauty pageant, a sports event, the last surviving human in an AI apocalypse etc.
